Today's big event was a trip into the city. My RA kinda flatmate person has two sisters who are just starting school here, so she took us all into the city today. It's not very far, and only takes about 15min if you time the bus and train (aka subway) right. The city is really nice, there's two shopping streets that cars can't drive on with everything from nice dpartment stores to Target to anything you want. Along one street there's a little clock like the one in Munich, and a gateway into this long alley of little shops that all look like they could be in Germany, kinda cool! (That picture wouldn't upload for some reason) We got lunch, the food court in undergroud which is pretty sweet because all it is is a little stairway that looks like you're going to the subway and turns into a giant food court, bigger than Maplewood Mall's, and almost another entire mall with it under ground! We took our sandwhiches to the waterfront where there was a nice breeze and pretty. It's very quiant for a major city, although it's WA (Western Australia) which is very conservative. Shops have to close by 6pm, unless they're in the city center, and they can't be open on Sundays to give the smaller shops a chance. I could go on and on but that would just get boring to read eventually so I'll leave you hanging in hopes you might come back for more =)
